There appears to be a discrepency with the identification guides and this specimen’s identity. This specimen looks very much like Morpho aurora aurora but according to the taxonomy guides, M. a. aurora does not fly near Georgetown, Guyana. In fact this species flight range is only Peru and Bolivia. This abberation looks differently from Morpho eugenia as well. It could be something undescribed or a natural hybrid of the two species. It is not certain what the proper name of this one of a kind species is.
