The genesis of the Yu-Gi-Oh Trading Card Game is interesting as far as collectible card games go. The Yu-Gi-Oh franchise started as a manga series based around a fictional card game called Magic & Wizards (later called Duel Monsters). The first Yu-Gi-Oh anime series was produced in 1998. It wasn’t until 2002 that the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG became a reality. Now it the most expensive Yu-Gi-Oh cards.
